Job Description

The SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) examination is a national-level competitive exam conducted to recruit candidates for various Group B and Group C posts in the Indian government. The selected candidates will be appointed to positions such as Assistant, Inspector, and Auditor. The job requires administrative and clerical tasks, and the candidates will be responsible for maintaining records, handling correspondence, and performing other duties as assigned.

Eligibility & Salary

  • Age Limit: 18-32 years as on 2026-01-01
  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university
  • Salary/Payscale: Level 8 (₹9300-34800) to Level 10 (₹56100-177500)

Syllabus & Exam Pattern

The SSC CGL exam will consist of four tiers:

  • Tier 1: Computer-Based Examination (CBE) with 100 questions (200 marks) - 60 minutes
    • General Intelligence and Reasoning (25 questions, 50 marks)
    • General Awareness (25 questions, 50 marks)
    • Quantitative Aptitude (25 questions, 50 marks)
    • English Comprehension (25 questions, 50 marks)
  • Tier 2: CBE with 300 questions (800 marks) - 2 hours
    • Paper 1: Quantitative Ability (100 questions, 200 marks)
    • Paper 2: English Language and Comprehension (200 questions, 200 marks)
    • Paper 3: Statistics (100 questions, 200 marks) (only for Junior Statistical Officer)
  • Tier 3: Pen-and-Paper mode (Descriptive paper) - 1 hour
    • Essay (250 marks)
    • Letter/Application (150 marks)
  • Tier 4: Skill test/Computer Proficiency Test (wherever applicable)
